    Fady Ferraye

Fady Ferraye has not had a normal upbringing for a DJ. Born in Beirut, he began collecting vinyl at the age of 10, with the Lebanese civil war as a backdrop. No easy start to a DJ career that would take him across the world for high-profile gigs, see him promoting a hot European residency and running a record label based in Amsterdam.

After years of spinning in the vibrant but at times insecure Middle East, after 6 years playing a weekly residency at Beirut’s B018, Fady felt the time was right to take the plunge to move to the Netherlands in 2006, homing in on Amsterdam, where his international DJ career started.

In the following years his profile shot up and he found himself booked all over the city. He landed a second residency, in the Middle East this time, at Amman’s glamorous Prana club. Fady also has performed alongside many international DJs, such as Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Dave Seaman, Marco V, Dirty South, Judge Jules, and Mark Van Dale. Fady knows that productions are essential for any DJ to get ahead, and a slew of his tracks have been supported by many international DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish, Moshic, Eelke Kleijn, Andy Moor, Matt Darey, Sandra Collins, The Flash Brothers, and DJ Tarkan. He records under various guises including Fady Ferraye, Yield (with DJ Maron from Holland), Fading Ocean (with M'ocean from the USA), and Free Jerk Inlay (with Eelke Kleijn from Holland).

    Patch Park

A fresh sound has arrived, and those seeking surprises on the dancefloor are advised to plug in to Patch Park.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Patch Park has landed singles on world-renowned and artist-helmed labels such as Little Mountain Recordings (Sander Kleinenberg), Yoshitoshi (Deep Dish), Audio Therapy (Dave Seaman) and Re*brand (Max Graham) and crafting remixes for the likes of Remy & Roland Klinkenberg, Dubfunk, Montero and Sultan & Ned Shepard. A recent song, “Made In Mayhem,” part of the Pitch Black EP on Yoshitoshi’s Shinichi label, presently sits in the top 10 of the techno charts on leading digital DJ music center Beatport. In fact, all of Patch Park’s releases to date, as well as his side project/collaboration Cyro, have managed an impressive feat of hitting the top 10s in all of their respective genres.

For the past several years, Patch Park has made music and played at leading clubs and events in Europe and America such as the Extrema Outdoor festival 2008 in the Netherlands and Miami’s Space Terrace with Sander Kleinenberg during the Winter Music Conference, which has led to future events showcasing this pairing on tour. Other venues and events of note are Amnesia in Ibiza, Godskitchen in Birmingham, Turnmills in London, Mansion in Miami and Melkweg and Dance Valley in Amsterdam, he has played alongside and has garnered the support from world-class DJs like Sasha, John Digweed, Dubfire, Desyn Masiello, Sharam, Pete Tong, Robbie Rivera, Joris Voorn, Max Graham, Armin van Buuren and Michel de Hey, to name a few. This unique ability to elicit such a solid, quality response in a short amount of time means that tastemakers are able to hear something different in the music. As it turns out, that difference is audible freedom.

Thanks to a significant yet unconventional reinvention of how he makes music—with the lead of an old-school sequencing favorite, Cubase—Patch Park songs are a much more accurate expression of his sonic ideas than ever before. And that’s freedom. “I’m in love with the program. I live and breathe it, actually,” he laughs. “When I have something in mind, I was never really able to translate it into the song, but it’s really been working for me. I think the dynamics of the tracks as a whole are better now and it all sounds more fresh.” Further proof that the Patch Park sound is here to say is by the sheer volume of current remix, co-production requests, music featured on compilations and top DJ playlists.

Forthcoming releases include singles for Little Mountain Recordings (“Space Shuttle Backpack”) and remixes on Basic Beat (Lemon8’s “New York, New York” – Patch Park Remix), Dieb Audio (Nils Nurnberg ‘s “Seduction” – Patch Park Remix), and Frisky Records (Fady Farraye’s “Beirut” - Patch Park Remix).

It’s an exciting new time that’s full of possibilities. But what hasn’t changed for Patch Park is the primary source of a creative spark. “For me, the best thing is to have a good night out, or a good weekend, or if I have a good gig,” he says. “That’s my inspiration.”
